RJ45 interface principle and wiring method

There are two types of common RJ45 interfaces: DTE types for Ethernet NICs, router Ethernet interfaces, and DCE types for switches.

RJ45 interface principle

The RJ45 consists of a plug and a socket. A connector consisting of these two components is connected between the wires to achieve electrical continuity of the wires.

The core of the RJ45 module is the modular jack. Gold-plated wire or socket holes maintain a stable and reliable electrical connection to the modular socket shrapnel. Due to the friction between the shrapnel and the jack, the electrical contact is further enhanced as the plug is inserted. The jack body is designed with an integral locking mechanism so that when the modular plug is inserted, the maximum pull strength can be produced outside the interface of the plug and the jack.

The wiring module on the RJ45 module is connected to the twisted pair through a 'U' shaped terminal slot, and the locking spring can be used to fix the RJ45 module on an information exit device such as a panel.

RJ45 wiring method

RJ45 type network cable plug, also known as crystal head, is made of eight cores and is widely used in the connection between network equipment (called Category 5 or twisted pair) between LAN equipment and ADSL broadband Internet users. In the specific application, the RJ45 type plug and network cable have two connection methods (line order), which are called T568A line sequence and T568B line sequence.

RJ45 type network cable plug pin number identification method is: hand-held plug, there are 8 small gold-plated pieces with one end up, one end of the rectangular large mouth with the network cable installed, and the face without the slender plastic bayonet Your eyes, starting from the first small gold plate on the left, are the first leg, the second leg, the ..., the eighth leg.

Applicability of T568A line sequence

This connection method is used when the network equipment needs to be interconnected. The so-called crossover means that one end and the other end of the network cable are different from the RJ45 network cable plug. One end is connected by the T568A line, and the other end is connected by the T568B line. There are several network cables on the other end that are first crossed to receive the RJ45 plug. The applicable connection occasions are:

1. Computer ←—→ computer, called peer-to-peer network connection, that is, two computers can communicate with each other through only one network cable;

2. Hub ← - → hub;

3. Switch ←—→Switch.

The correspondence between the feet of the RJ45 type network cable plug and the color code of the network cable is:

Plug foot number cable color

RJ45 interface

Applicability of T568B line sequence

First, direct connection interconnection

Both ends of the network cable are connected by T568B.

1. Computer ←—→ADSL Cat

2. ADSL cat ←—→ WAN port of ADSL router

3. Computer ←—→ LAN port of ADSL router

4. Computer ←—→ Hub or Switch

Second, cross interconnection

One end of the network cable is connected by T568B, and the other end is connected by T568A.

1. Computer ←—→ computer, ie peer-to-peer connection

2. Hub ← - → Hub

3. Switch ←—→Switch

The correspondence between the feet of the RJ45 type network cable plug and the color code of the network cable is:
